On November 9, 2013, the Jenna Druck Center’s Young Women's Spirit of Leadership Program hosted a conference that brought together 250 girls from around the San Diego area. Over the course of the day-long event the young women were able to connect and interact with over forty female business and community leaders who shared insight, advice, and encouragement.
The theme of the conference was “Leading Yourself,” and emphasized that “being a leader starts with knowing yourself.”
The conference included addresses from several speakers, a catered meal, as well as breakout sessions which focused on topics such as goal setting, discovering personal strengths and values, developing decision-making skills, and learning how to more effectively communicate with others. The keynote address was given by Dr. Jackie Freiberg, bestselling author and expert on innovative leadership.
The Jenna Druck Center is a San Diego based non-profit with the stated mission to “transform the lives of young women and bereaved families in our community.” Along with the award-winning Spirit of Leadership Program, the Jenna Druck Center also sponsors the Families Helping Families Program, which provides support groups and education events for families who have recently lost loved ones.
